The quest for ever-more sustainable mega sporting events

This article is a commentary by a collection of scholars on issues surrounding the service, politics, fandom, security, children's rights, and sustainability of the 2024 men's UEFA Euro tournament. The commentary on sustainability suggests that while this event may have been the most sustainable attempt at the men's Euro tournament, it is likely not the "most sustainable ever." Some discussion on transportation, carbon footprint, and climate is offered as it relates to this tournament and in comparison to future men's Euro tournaments and future FIFA men's World Cups.
